Leroy Lita Injured 'Stretching In Bed'
It's always a joy to hear the unlikely stories that footballers use to explain their injuries.
And, so, it is with great pleasure that I offer you this season's first and probably best 'unlikely cause of injury' story.
Reading striker Leroy Lita has been injured after damaging a leg muscle as he stretched in bed after waking up.
Apparently, the player may miss 3-4 weeks at the start of the new Premiership season. His manager, Steve Coppell, commented :
"He woke up and stretched while in bed and he has done something to his leg."
"It is not an injury that should be ridiculed or made light of. It looks to be a problem with a nerve. Maybe he has displaced one, but he could hardly walk on Monday and had to sit out training."
Of course, we here at PremiershipToday.Blogspot.com believe every single word of it. And we wouldn't for a single minute suggest that Senor Lita may have injured himself through some other kind of bedroom athletics. Not for a minute. We wouldn't be so cynical.
Um, get well soon, Leroy.
