Lampard Scores A Penalty
Frank Lampard got a couple of goals against Fulham this weekend. One of them was a penalty. Nothing unusual in that. Except that - considering the press coverage Lampard has received this season - you would have thought it was the bravest thing since the Gallipolli campaign. It wasn't.
And let's leave all the "he's answered the doubters" , "silenced the critics" and other similar cliches alone. Scoring two goals doesn't mean that Lampard wasn't off-form for the first 5 or so matches. It doesn't even mean he's back on form now. It just means he's scored two goals. Is that clear enough?
